On 11.11.11, the children wrote what they thought they might be doing in 11 years time, on 2.2.22, when they would be 16 years old. Here are some of their ideas – no names though!!
* I might be getting married and I might have long hair.
* I might be going to a cafe with my boyfriend.
* I might be married and I might wear high heeled shoes.
* I might be having a walk in the park with my boyfriend.
* I might be driving a train and dropping people off.
* I might be married and I might wear boots because I want to be a hairdresser.
I might be driving a car to school. I might be at Boys’ High.

November Board Report.

Last week we went to Mount Bruce, and had a wonderful day finding out about some of our native birds and animals.
Some things we learned . . .

• Tuataras have scales on their backs – Isabella.
• Eels need just a little bit of food – Sam.
• Kiwis get scared if people are noisy – Camden.
• Kiwis are awake at night time –Abby.
• Kiwis are nocturnal.
• Birds with sharp beaks rip the bark off trees – Alex.
• Tuataras like to eat moths – Maya.
• Kiwis eat bugs and they sniff in the ground to find them – Abby.
• A kiwi’s nose is at the end of his beak – Emily
• Kiwis can’t fly – Charlotte.
• Kiwis lay big eggs – Abby.

Mount Bruce, Pukaka

We had a wonderful day at Mount Bruce. We saw lots of native birds and animals, including kiwis and tuataras. Feeding the hungry eels was a highlight, especially when George fed them a RAT!!

After lots of practising, it was our turn to perform on the stage in front of our families and friends. It was VERY exciting!
